HAMSA Activist Fellowship
A young blogger in Egypt has just been detained by police. Paramilitary forces assault a student rally in Iran. A woman in Saudi Arabia is prevented from leaving the country without the permission and escort of a male relative. Journalists in Morocco face a long jail-term and a large fine for publishing an article critical of the King. The question is: What are you going to do? If the answer is “stand by silently,” then read no further. But if the answer is “use my freedom and my voice to protect civil rights,” then consider becoming a HAMSA Fellow. We are recruiting a group of young activists from the US, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. These HAMSA Fellows will implement campaigns to protect Middle East reformers under fire and lead pro-active campaigns to secure individual rights.
We seek a diverse group of individuals with a diverse set of skills. If you are interested in any of the following activities, you can contribute:
We are currently planning a training workshop for mid-August. To request an application form for the HAMSA fellowship, send an email to nasser@hamsaweb.org.
