"Free Fouad" Rally at Saudi Embassy in Washington

“I don’t want to be forgotten in jail”

What: A peaceful vigil in front of the Saudi Embassy to demand the release Fouad Al-Farhan (32), a Saudi blogger who has been detained since December 11, 2007 for unspecified charges.

Why: Father of two young children, Al-Farhan is the "Godfather of Saudi blogging" for his decision to blog openly under his real name - a risk that has now led to his arrest and detention for nearly two months.

When: Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 13:00-14:45

Who: People of conscience from diverse backgrounds, organized by Hands Across the Middle East Alliance (HAMSA)
